About Dr. Wagner
Kathryn Wagner was born in San Antonio at the world-renowned Brooke Army Medical Center. She grew up in South Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her
Bachelor’s degree majoring in Biology. She continued her education at the UT Medical Branch at Galveston, then at the University of Oklahoma, where she completed her internship and residency
in General Surgery and Peripheral Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Wagner has been in private practice in San Antonio since she finished her training in 1995. She maintains offices on the 14th floor of the historic Nix Health Care
System downtown. Although she practices primarily at the Nix, she has operating privileges at Methodist Health Care System hospitals including, Metropolitan Methodist hospital, as well as
Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, and the Baptist Health Systems.
Dr. Wagner is also the
Medical Director
of the Breast Cancer Program at the Texas Cancer Clinic
.
She is a member in good standing of several professional organizations, including fellowship in the American College of Surgeons (inducted
in 1999), the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Association of Women
Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Society. Dr.
Wagner is a Lifetime Member of the Texas Exes.
She was licensed through the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners in 1991, and became Board Certified through the American College of Surgeons in 1999.
She is married and has three children. Her interests include swimming, scuba diving, and wine tasting.
